Welcome to my kitchen! I had two goals for the design of this space.

The first was to align it to the style of the rest of the house which was built in 1936. There is a definite nod to the Art Deco style while, at the same time, making the space feel personal and individual. The floor to ceiling subway tile, reproduction light fixtures, and Riverway green wall color give it that vintage vibe. Mixing old with new and personal treasures is what gives the whole space life.

The second was to create a place I’d want to spend a significant amount of time in. I have been enjoying my morning coffee ritual in front of the restored vintage steel-framed windows, perusing my cookbook collection for dinner ideas on the custom bookshelf (designed and built by yours truly), and keeping an organized pantry including a dedicated cabinet just for the dogs!

I’m so pleased with the way it all turned out. I hope you find inspiration in it as well.
